FHS alum Alexander joins Thomas College Hall of Fame

With only a change of clothes, a bus ticket and a promise to play basketball, Derrell Alexander headed out on an adventure of a lifetime. This adventure would lead Darrell, a 2004 graduate of Fairfield High School, to Thomas College, in Waterville, Maine, a mere 2,000 miles from his hometown.

With only a change of clothes, a bus ticket and a promise to play basketball, Derrell Alexander headed out on an adventure of a lifetime. This adventure would lead Darrell, a 2004 graduate of Fairfield High School, to Thomas College, in Waterville, Maine, a mere 2,000 miles from his hometown.

Alexander recently was elected to the Thomas Collage Basketball Hall of Fame. At Thomas College from 2006 through 2010, “Texas,” as Alexander was nicknamed, was a four-year letterman, averaging 28 points per game, with a total of 1,100 points.

As part of the Hall of Fame induct officials stated: “Derrell is the all-time leading scorer here at Thomas College. Derrell was a remarkable player and played a large roll, both on and off the court, as an influencing presence for his teammates and Thomas College, assuring the continued success of Thomas College Basketball.”
