The Fairfield Lady Eagles fell to Elkhart – their first district loss of the season – and defeated Buffalo this past week to move to 26-12 overall and 10-1 in district play. The Lady Eagles will come out as the district champions again this year.

“Even with some of the trials we’ve faced this season, I’m proud of the perseverance of this team to win district,” Head Coach Kelly Ridge said.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Elkhart on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and fell to the Lady Elks in three straight sets, 25-23, 25-18, 25-17.

Fairfield hosted Buffalo on Friday, Oct. 25, and defeated the Lady Bison in three straight sets, 25-14, 25-- 10, 25-13. The Lady Eagles wrapped-up district play on Tuesday, Oct. 29, against the Mexia Lady Blackcats.

Fairfield will travel to Leon on Friday, Nov. 1, to take on the Lady Cougars in a warm-up game at 4 p.m. in order to give fans plenty of time to make it back to Fairfield for the football game.

The Lady Eagles will play Little River Academy in the bi-district round at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at China Spring High School. Tickets can only be bought online. No cash will be accepted at the door or for concessions.

“Our goal in the playoffs is to win, obviously, but also to continue to get better each day,” Ridge said. “Every round will be tough, especially with the new playoff format.”
