The Fairfield Eagles hosted the Westwood Panthers in their last home game of the season and fell 62-39. The Eagles moved to 5-4 on the season and 2-2 in district play.
“Our goal was to stay focused on ourselves. There was a lot of build-up to the game against Westwood and we wanted to control what we could control, which is ourselves,” Coach John Bachtel said. “I am proud of the guys because they did that. They played like warriors which was also our goal heading into the game. I am proud to be a Fairfield Eagle.”
Westwood scored a touchdown with 5 minutes, 46 seconds left in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. Fairfield attempted a field goal with 28 seconds left in the quarter, but it failed.
