After a torrential rain and lighting postponed the football game on Friday night, Fairfield traveled back to Crockett to take on the Bulldogs at noon on Saturday, Nov. 9. The Eagles defeated the Bulldogs 41-12 to advance to the playoffs with an overall record of 6-4 and a district record of 3-2.

Westwood won the district as Fairfield tied Teague and Diboll for second place. Based on points, Teague took second, Diboll third, and Fairfield fourth.

“I’m proud of the guys for being resilient. We drove to Crockett on Friday for the game and when we got there we were already in a lightning delay. We never got out of it so we rescheduled the game for Saturday at noon,” Head Coach John Bachtel said. “The guys did everything we asked them to do. So we got to school at 8:30 a.m., had a walk through, ate breakfast and loaded the bus for Crockett again. We started the game a little sluggish. After halftime, we shut them down and controlled the ball to win the game and earn a playoff spot.”
