The Fairfield Eagles fell to the Yoakum Bulldogs 5626 in the Area Championship on Friday night, Nov. 22, at Temple High School. The Eagles finish the season with an overall record of 7-5.

“These guys got better each week this year. They worked hard and became a really good football team,” coach John Bachtel said. “I’m proud of the effort they put into the season and the resiliency they showed each week.”

Yoakum took a 14-0 lead before Jaylon Shed found the end zone from the one-yard line. The extra point by Kieren King was good to make it a 14-7 game with 1:34 left in the first quarter. The Bulldogs scored once again with one second left in the quarter to take a 20-7 lead.
