The Christmas season is here and there will be plenty of Christmas festivities happening in Fairfield so mark your calendar.
’Tis the Season to Keep the Cheer Here will take place Nov. 30 through Dec. 13. Dine-in, carry- out, or patronize participating restaurants, shops, local retailers, and businesses. Save the receipt and submit it for a chance to win. Drop the receipt off at the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce or text a copy with your name to 904- 388-5703 or 904-388-3251. Post a photo showing how you support local businesses on Facebook for an extra chance to win. The business that has the most receipts sent in will win a prize. Winners will be announced Dec. 16.
The Lovely Local Elf will make visits in town from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. The schedule includes: Dec. 3, The Jaded Spade; Dec. 10, Southern Bound; Dec. 17,Accessories Etc.; Dec. 19, Brenda’s Closet; and Dec. 23, MagicalTown Tree.
There will be a Holiday Sip, Snack, and Shop held on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Businesses involved include Accessories Etc., The Jaded Spade, Brenda’s Closet, Armadillo Emporium, Juls by Jul, The Twisted Whisk, Freeman’s Flowers, Trinity Star Arts Council, Studio 75 Salon - Fairfield, Southern Bound, Dessert by Mommacakes, Kennedy’s Korner, Jenerosity & Phluff, Creations Flowers & Gifts, The Fairfield Recorder, and Pack ‘N Mail. The Butterfly Babes Permanent Jewelry will be popping up at The Jaded Spade as well.
The Home for the Holidays Christmas Celebration will be held at the Freestone County Courthouse on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be crafts, performances, wagon rides, local vendors, food trucks, face painting, balloon artist, and so much more.
The Home for the Holiday Parade will be held at 4 p.m. The chamber is encouraging youngsters or families to decorate their bike with Christmas magic, tinsel, or lights and join in on the parade as well. Line-up for the parade will be at 3 p.m. in the Fairfield Elementary School parking lot.
Mrs. Bettye Trask will read the Christmas Story at 3:30 p.m. Santa will be available for pictures from 5 to 7 p.m. Community entertainment performances will be held at 5:30 p.m. and the Christmas tree lighting will take place at 6:15 p.m.
The River of Life Family Worship Center will present the annual nativity drama and performance at 6:30 p.m. They will also have a petting zoo from 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Phone Calls from Santa will take place on Dec. 15 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Dec. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Calls are $20 each or $25 for iPhone Face-Time. Proceeds will go to the Moody-Bradley House. Call Cindy Neal at 903-388-5086 to sign-up.
The Jingle All the Way celebration will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m at the Freestone County Courthouse. There will be Santa, pony carousel, snow slide, balloon artist, local vendors, festive food and drinks, live carols, crafts, and much more.
