The Fairfield Lady Eagles went 5-0 in the Athens Tournament over the weekend to bring home the gold. Fairfield moves to 10-1 on the season.

The Fairfield Lady Eagles went 5-0 in the Athens Tournament over the weekend to bring home the gold. Fairfield moves to 10-1 on the season.

“The girls had a great tournament,” Coach Sally Whitaker said. “We were able to work on a lot of different situations with each game. It was a great tournament for us.”

On Thursday, Dec. 5, Fairfield defeated the Ennis Lady Lions 76-28. Jimilyah Nash led the way for the Lady Eagles with 16 points. Delaney McGowan 11, Jaci Abram 10, Kole Brackens 9, Blayke Brackens 8, Addison Posey 7, Kaylee Williams 6, Jacelynn Schmidt 3.

The Lady Eagles then played Kilgore and took a 67-41 win over the Lady Bulldogs. B. Brackens led the way for Fairfield with 15 points. Williams added 14 points, Abram 9, Rhett Ralstin and Schmidt 6 apiece, KeKe Alexander 5, Aaliyah Nash and Posey 3 each, K. Brackens, McGowan, and J. Nash 2 apiece.

On Friday, Dec. 6, Fairfield defeated the Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs 52-26. J. Nash led the way for the Lady Eagles with 12 points. Williams and Schmidt added 10 points apiece, B. Brackens and Abram 7 each, and K. Brackens 6.

The Lady Eagles defeated the Rusk Lady Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 7, 71-48. Schmidt led the way for Fairfield with 21 points. J. Nash added 15 points, Williams 13, B. Brackens 8, K. Brackens 6, Abram 4, Alexander 2, and Ralstin 1.

In the Championship game, Fairfield played Dickinson and defeated the Lady Gators 59-42 to bring home the gold. Williams and Abram led the way for the Lady Eagles with 15 points each J. Nash added 12 points, B. Brackens 10, Schmidt 7, and K. Brackens 1.
