Blake Phillips, a junior at Fairfield High School, brought home seventh-place overall from the state job-interview contest held at Sam Houston State University over the weekend.
“The executive director stated that Texas has 183,000 members. 123,000 participated in the Fall Leadership Contest to start,” Fairfield FFAAdvisor Daniel Phillips said. “The state contest represented the Top 5% of the entire state so it is a big accomplishment for sure.”
Blake Phllips placed second out of 13 at the district competition earlier this year. At the area contest, he earned second place out of 10 individuals to advance to state.
