The Fairfield Lady Eagles went 2-2 in the Fairfield Tournament Dec. 1214 to win consolation in the tournament. Fairfield moves to 14-3 on the season.
“We got to play some really good teams this weekend,” coach Sally Whitaker said. “That always makes you better in the long run.”
Fairfield defeated the Mount Vernon Lady Tigers in their first pool game on Thursday, Dec. 12, 47-39. Jaci Abram and Jimilyah Nash led the way for the Lady Eagles with 13 points each. Kaylee Williams added nine points, and Kole Brackens chipped in with four.
The Lady Eagles then played the Burnet Lady Bulldogs and fell to the 4A team, 53-48. Nash led the way for Fairfield with 13 points. Brackens and Jacelynn Schmidt added 10 points each in defeat.
On Friday, the Lady Eagles lost to the Little River Academy Lady Bumblebees 52-42. Williams led the way for the Lady Eagles with 13 points. Nash added nine points, and Brackens and Schmidt posted eight points each.
In the consolation game, Fairfield defeated the Neches Lady Tigers 63-36. Williams led the way for Fairfield with 17 points. Brackens and Nash added 13 points each in the victory.
