The weatherman has kept us off the lake several days the past couple of weeks, but when we’ve been able to fish, we’ve caught some really nice BIG catfish!
We have also been a bit selective as to where we fish when the wind or showers have been a little bit of an issue. Instead of making the long trip up the Richland Creek and fishing where we normally do this time of year, we’ve stayed near the marina and fished the coves and timber on the south shoreline.
I “baited out” a spot or two, and the catfish have been there on every trip. We may not catch quite as many fish, but the quality has been really good with bigger blues and channels.
As mentioned in previous reports, we’ve been catching all our catfish on Mr. Whisker’s cheese punch bait. They make a regular and blood punch bait and we’ve used both with equally good success. The bait stays on the hook better than other punch baits, doesn’t smell as strong as others, and costs less. Check it out at www.whiskerseeker.com and if you order some, use coupon code: GONEFISHIN15 and save 15% off the cost.
As we head into the holidays, Adam and I have several weekday openings and even a boat available on Saturday, Dec. 21, and Jan. 4. If the weather is nice, fishing is a great way to get the kiddos out of the house and in the fresh air! Last but not least, we have GIFT CERTIFICATES for that special fisherman in the family! Give us a call and Let’s Go Fishin’!
