The Fairfield Lady Eagles defeated the Groesbeck Lady Goats 84-21 in district play on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The Lady Eagles move to 3-0 in district play and 13-3 overall.
Fairfield put 34 points on the board in the first quarter and held Groesbeck to just 8. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Goats 19-7 in the second quarter to take a 5315 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Fairfield scored 17 points and held Groesbeck scoreless as the Lady Eagles extended their lead to 70-15 going into the final quarter of play. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Goats 14-6 in the fourth quarter for the 84-21 home win.
Kaylee Williams led the way for the Lady Eagles with 12 points. Blayke Brackens added 10 points, Jaci Abram and Jimilyah Nash 9 each, Jacelynn Schmidt 8, Aaliyah Nash and Delaney Mc-Gowan 7 apiece, KeKe Alexander, Kole Brackens, and Addison Posey 6 each, and Samone Garrett 4.
Fairfield will compete in the Saginaw Tournament Dec. 27-28 before hosting Central Heights on Monday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. The Lady Eagles will start district play again on Friday, Jan. 3, when they will host the Mexia Lady Blackcats.
