Katy and I really enjoyed our Christmas break. We enjoyed a few days at Disney World and then resting some at home. Before we know it, summer will be here!
District basketball games are in full swing, which means playoffs are just around the corner. I just love the playoffs and the atmosphere of the games.
The new year is off to a great start so far. We all have things in our past that we want to change. However, we need to forget what is in the past and press on toward the goal that the Lord has laid before us. We are never going to be perfect in this life. We are always going to make mistakes. We can only strive to be more Christ-like each day.
This week’s Bible verse is Philippians 3:12-14. It says, “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
This earth is only our temporary home. We will pass away one day and all of our “stuff” will just be left on this earth. Our eternal home is in Heaven. We need to live a life that is Christ-centered as we share his love with others.
My prayer for us this week is that we will press on toward the goal to win the prize that God has for us. Until next week, make Him famous in all that you do!
