Foree named Star of Year

Paramedic Matt Foree has earned Fairfield EMS 2024’s Star of the Year. The awa r d is based on a vote of peers to recognize service and duty throughout the year.

Paramedic Matt Foree has earned Fairfield EMS 2024’s Star of the Year.

The awa r d is based on a vote of peers to recognize service and duty throughout the year.

Foree grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2000. He started his career volunteering for the fire department and gained his EMT certification and firefighters certification in 2016. Foree then held ranks as firefighter, lieutenant, captain and assistant chief.

Foree graduated from the police academy in 2004 and has served as a patrol officer, narcotics, sergeant, K9, and interim police chief. He began working full-time with Fairfield EMS in December 2023. Foree’s most recent achievement, in the public servant role, is gaining his paramedic certification in May 2024.

“I have always enjoyed serving and protecting the community. I have worked or volunteered as a public servant all of my adult life,” Foree said. “I was surprised and honored to be recognized as Star of the Year. I am proud to continue learning and growing alongside some of the greatest in the business.”

Billy Perez, director of Fairfield Ambulance Service, said, “I am very proud of Matt’s accomplishments! Matt is dedicated and compassionate to his patients and strives to stay well-trained and educated, to provide the best patient care that he may give. Congratulations Matt and a job well done.”
