The Fairfield Lady Eagles traveled to Groesbeck on Wednesday, Jan. 22, and dominated the Lady Goats 66-11. The win moves Fairfield to 24-5 overall and 9-0 in district play.
Fairfield came out in the first quarter and scored 22 points and held Groesbeck scoreless. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Goats 13-7 in the second quarter to make it a 35-7 game at halftime.
Fairfield came out in the third quarter and scored 17 points and held Groesbeck to just three to make it a 52-10 game going into the final quarter of play. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Goats 14-1 in the fourth quarter to bring home the big 6611 road win.
Kaylee Williams led the way for the Lady Eagles with 18 points. Blayke Brackens added 10 points, and Delaney McGowan and Jimilyah Nash scored nine points each.
Fairfield played Mexia on Tuesday night, Jan. 28. The Lady Eagles will host the Elkhart Lady Elks on Friday night, Jan. 31, before traveling to Westwood next Tuesday, Feb. 4 to take on the Lady Panthers in their final district game of the season before the playoffs.
