Cities and school districts in Freestone County report that several candidates filed for the May 3 local elections with more expected to come forward the last week of filing.
Candidate filing opened Jan.15, and it ends Friday, Feb. 14.
In the City of Fairfield, City Council Place 3, now held by Bobby Nichols; Place 4, now held by Roger Keeton; and Place 5, now held by Angela Oglesbee will be on the ballot.
