Every weekday morning, she hosts a guest from the community on her morning show with the conversation broadcast on both Facebook Live and the radio station. Kat also serves as the chair of the Palestine LibraryAdvisory Board. The guest speakers selected for this year’s event are incredible women making waves in the business world.
Darlisa Diltz is the Chief Entrepreneurship Strategist for the Foundations Entrepreneur Development Center. She partnered with Vista Bank and South Dallas Progress CDC to open the South Dallas Fair Park Innovation Center, a flexible workspace dedicated to foundational structuring, financial literacy, and community development. As a community advocate, she currently leads the four-county-wide Global Entrepreneurship Week initiative for North Texas.
AnnYagerChapman is the president and CEO of various branches of Woodson’s Lumber and the Yager Foundation. She also serves as a board member of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, the Burleson County Economic development Council, and the Lumbermens Merchandising Corporation.
Elena Fortanelli began as a picker for Monterey Mushrooms right out of high school, and worked her way up to receptionist and Human Resource assistant. She then transferred to Child Protective Services where she worked as an investigator. Elena worked at the Windham School District in education and workforce development, and eventually returned to Monterey Mushrooms as the Regional People and Cultural Manager.
Taylor Miller is the co-founder and executive director of the BEE Community, a place of meaningful work and belonging for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Witnessing the stark reality of life after high school for many of her students, she sought to change the narrative of unemployment and isolation for adults with disabilities.
We will also be recognizing several women who have made lasting impacts in their communities: Josephine Randle, Karen Helmcamp, Debra Albritton, and Dianne Ryder.
