Eagles fall to Franklin in Bi-District game

The Fairfield Eagles saw their season come to a close on Tuesday night, Feb. 18, in the Bi-Distirct Championship at Leon High School with a 66-47 loss to the Franklin Lions.

The Fairfield Eagles saw their season come to a close on Tuesday night, Feb. 18, in the Bi-Distirct Championship at Leon High School with a 66-47 loss to the Franklin Lions.

The Eagles finish the season with an overall record of 13-15.

Franklin took a 20-13 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Lions outscored the Eagles 17-11 in the second quarter to extend their lead to 37-24 at halftime.

Franklin came out in the third quarter and put 15 points on the board while holding Fairfield to just 8 points to make it a 52-32 game going into the final quarter of play. The Eagles outscored the Lions 15-14 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as Franklin took a 66-47 victory to advance to the Area Championship.

Connor Colvert led the way for the Eagles 14 points. Madden McElroy and Kavion Hicks added 7 points each, Jason Brackens, Davonte Alexander, andManny Brown 4 apiece, Joshua George 3, and Eli Owen and Keyshawn Turner 2 each.

Fairfield only had two seniors on the team, Joshua George and Eli Owen.
