A Texas favorite, Jake Hooker & The Outsiders, will be performing in Freestone County, presented by Trinity Star Arts Council on Friday, April 4, at The Venue at G Bar Ranch.
Hooker was born listening to the sounds of traditional country music through his father’s West Texas country band. He began playing the bass at AGE 7 and practiced diligently until he mastered the honky-tonk sound.
Members of Jake Hooker & The Outsiders include Hooker, vocals and upright bass; Tommy Detamore, pedal steel; Jess Meador, fiddle; Eugen Kim, fiddle; Mack Hooker, guitar; and Brian Dunn, drums.
With nine albums under their belts, Jake Hooker & The Outsiders have received numerous awards, including 2020 Texas Country Music Association Western Swing Artist of the Year.
In 2024, Hooker was inducted to the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame, receiving the Star of Texas Award for promoting Rodeo Cowboys and their way of life.
Be sure to mark your calendars for April 4.
A reserved table will be $600 for a party of eight. Tickets are $50 in advance and $75 at the door. Tickets will be available to purchase online soon at www. trinitystarartscouncil.org.
