February has been an extremely busy month, but a very fun month as we got to follow the Fairfield Lady Eagles throughout the playoffs. They defeated Little River Academy on Friday night in the Regional Championship 61-43 to advance to the State Tournament for the fifth time in six years.
The Lady Eagles have so much heart and determination and want to win. Coach Sally Whitaker, Randy Barger, Tarsha Graves, and Dennis Johnson have an amazing program going on at the high school.
I love all the playoff games because of how intense they are with the involvement of the fans. I wouldn’t change it for anything. However, just like every year, God convicts me. I need to be cheering for Him and sharing the good news with others just like I am cheering on the Lady Eagles.
This week’s Bible verse is Philippians 4:13. It says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Throughout our lives there will be difficult times that we have to overcome. It is important that we have a personal relationship with God so we can go to him at any time that we may need to do so. He will give us the strength we need to get through the hard times.
Things are not going to be perfect and our “to-do” list will probably never be completed. However, sometimes, we must take a break and breathe and know that God has us and is our strength that gets us through the day.
As we go throughout each day this week, put a smile on the face of those around us. Give them some words of encouragement or a little appreciation gift to pick them up for the week. Sometimes, we never know what those around us are going through and a little bit of encouragement can go a long way and brighten someone’s day.
My prayer for us this week is that we will call on the Lord because he is our strength and helps us. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
