Eight Fairfield Eagles have advanced to the Regional Powerlifting Meet in West this Saturday, March 8.
Qualifying for the meet are Jose Gutierrez, Aiden Adams, Gage Wendt, Armodo Charles, Austin Solis, AJ Garcia, Marco Ramirez, and Landon Salinas.
“These young men have done a great job this year. They have won three of the five meets they competed in. We have some guys that are still rehabbing knees from football season. This group picked up the slack and ran with it,” Coach Kevin Childers said. “The goal at Regionals is always twofold. We want to try to get to the state meet and also medal in the Top 5 places. We have an opportunity to accomplish that with this group. They are led by senior Landon Salinas, the returning state champ in the 242 division.”
