Junior Blayke Brackens, sophomore Jacleynn Schmidt and senior Jaci Abram were named to the All-Tournament Team for the state tournament this year.

Brackens was named the Most Valuable Player of the State Championship. She had 17 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

“I am so happy for Blayke. She made some amazing shots under so much pressure,” Coach Sally Whitaker said. “It takes a special kid to step up and want the ball in those types of situations. I couldn’t be more proud for her and her family.”

Both Schmidt and Abram had 12 points in the State Championship.

“We knew we had an advantage in the post going into the game. Jaci Abram and Jacelynn Schmidt did an outstanding job of getting open in the post and finishing,” Whitaker said. “Our guards, Jimilyah and KK, did a great job of finding the open post and getting them the ball. Just an amazing team effort, but I am so proud of Jaci and Jacelynn for getting some much deserved recognition.”

Also named to the All-Tournament team were Jim Ned seniors Gracee Cooley and Riley Grohman as well as Corpus Christi West Oso senior Milauni Williams.
