The Fairfield Eagles took second place overall in the Fairfield track meet last Thursday, March 6. Fairfield had 143 points behind Kerens who won with 145 points.
Jason Brackens ran a 17.699 in the 110m hurdles for a first place finish.
The 4x200m relay team consisting of Kyser Gregory, Jeremiah Hudson, Finn Smith, and KD Hicks grabbed first place with a time of 1:33.269.
In the 1600m run, John Kuzmich ran a 5:08.400 for second place and Collen Loviette ran a 5:22.360 for third place. Kuzmich took second in the 3200m run with a 10:58.170 as Loviette placed fourth with a 11:51.897.
Kalil Appel, Hudson, Smith, and Hicks ran a 44.348 in the 4x100m relay for a third place finish.
Noah Hoskins and Madden McElroy garnered first and second place in the 400m dash with a 53.958 and 54.618 respectively.
In the 800m run, Hoskins placed fourth with a time of 2:18.256.
Smith won the gold in the 200m dash with a 23.464. Gregory placed third with a 23.964 and Hudson fourth with a 24.543.
Gregory, Hoskins, McElroy, and Jerry Draper ran a 3:39.647 in the 4x400m relay for a first place finish.
Brayden Thornburg placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 35’9”.
In the discus competition, Thornburg grabbed second with a 130’1” throw and Jose Castaneda fourth with a 113’8” throw.
Fairifeld will compete in the Eustace track meet on Thursday, March 20.
