The Lady Eagles have started the season with a 4-2 record. Bailey Jones is the head coach this season and she is being assisted by Kerry Hand and Dennis Johnson.

“We’ve had a fantastic season so far and are excited to see how it unfolds as we enter district play,” Jones said. “With a young and determined team, we are confident in their ability to compete at a high level and make a strong impact in the upcoming games.”

Jones said they are focused on taking one game at a time and securing one win at a time.

“Our ultimate goal is to win the district title while maintaining a positive mindset and unwavering determination throughout the season,” Jones said.

Last year, Fairfield graduated five key seniors.

“While their departure has presented challenges, our team is rising to the occasion,” Jones said. “With a talented group of younger players, we are confident in our ability to overcome these obstacles and remain poised to compete at a high level.”

Jones pointed out that Madelyn Morrison and Haylee Allen are key players to watch this season.

Morrison is an exceptional athlete who has developed into a strong leader both on and off the field, particularly at shortstop. Allen has made an immediate impact as our starting pitcher, impressing with her ability to command the zone with both speed and precision.

“From top to bottom, our team is filled with talent, and every player contributes significantly to our success,” Jones said.

Jones graduated college in May 2024 at the age of 22. This marks her first year as both a teacher and coach.

“I am honored to serve as head coach in my first year,” Jones said. “I am excited to bring fresh perspectives and dedication to my role as I work with our team.”

The Lady Eagles started district play last week with a big 15-0 victory over the Westwood Lady Panthers and a 18-0 win over the Mexia Lady Blackcats.
