Let your light shine before others…

Spring break was a much needed break last week. Katy and I were able to rest some. We also enjoyed playing with our nephew, Boone. There are only about nine weeks of school left. Summer will be here before we know it.

The Limestone County Fair will take place all next week. The shows will end on Friday with the sale being held on Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m.

This week’s Bible verse is Matthew 5:16. It says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

In my devotional that I am currently reading, I read the following message titled “In the Driver’s Seat” from Joe Stowell “I enjoy the story of the stressed-out woman who was tailgating a man on a busy boulevard. When he slowed to a stop at a yellow light, the woman hit the horn, cussing and screaming in frustration and gesturing angrily. Still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window. It was a police officer, who ordered her to exit the car. He took her to the police station and placed her in a holding cell.

An hour later, the officer returned and said, “I’m sorry, Ma’am. This has been a big mistake. When I saw how you were acting and then saw your “What Would Jesus Do?” license plate and your “Follow Me to Sunday School” bumper sticker, I assumed the car was stolen!

Satan wants to see Christians who don’t act like they belong to Jesus. If he can get us to live like the ungodly, he knows we will dishonor the name of Christ in the process Here’s the better way: Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

Our actions speak very loudly. We always have others watching us to see what we are doing. It is very important that we live a life that represents Christ. I know we are human and we are not perfect and we never will be. We are going to make mistakes. We just need to strive to be more like Christ daily.

My prayer for us this week is that we will always let God’s light shine brightly from our life. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
