2 jailed after shooting

Two women are in the Freestone County Jail after a shooting and a drug bust. One suspect is charged with two counts of attempted murder and manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance.

Two women are in the Freestone County Jail after a shooting and a drug bust.

One suspect is charged with two counts of attempted murder and manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance. The other suspect is charged with manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance.

At approximately 6 a.m. Sunday, Freestone County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residence in the west side of the county on reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived on scene, authorities say they found that two men were shot at by a woman and one of the men ran into the woods.

Authorities detained two women at the scene to investigate the shooting further and requested help from the Teague Volunteer Fire Department to help find the man who ran into the woods.

After speaking with everyone at the scene, authorities say they found evidence to support a shooting occurred, including bullet holes in the exterior walls and bullet casings. One of the women was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder.

Upon continuing the investigation at the scene, a total of 137 grams of liquid methamphetamine and 6 grams of crystal methamphetamine was located. The second woman was arrested and charged with manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance.

The initial female in custody received the same added charge. It was reported that everyone involved in the incident was uninjured.
