As a proud representative of rural Texas, I have always fought to protect our state’s land, values, and way of life. That’s why I am a champion for multiple bills moving through the Texas House right now.
First I am a supporter of legislation to prohibit foreign adversaries from buying up our farmland. Second, I am the author of House Bill 128, to end sister city relationships with hostile foreign nations. These measures are essential to defending Texas from undue foreign influence and safeguarding our communities for future generations.
Texas land is more than just soil—it’s our heritage, our livelihood. Yet, foreign entities tied to adversarial nations like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea have been quietly acquiring farmland across America, including right here in Texas. As of 2021, China alone owned nearly 400,000 acres of US agricultural land. This is a direct threat to our food supply, our economy, and even our national security.
