MITCH’S CORNER

It has been very busy here lately. Katy and I enjoyed a little getaway over the weekend. We were able to go and see Brooks and Dunn at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This week has been busy as I am taking pictures at the Limestone County Livestock Show in Groesbeck.

Before we know it, the 103rd Freestone County Fair & Rodeo will be here. The event is scheduled for June 16-21 at the W.L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds. I am excited for the week and can’t wait to capture many memories with all of the pictures that I take throughout the week.

This week’s Bible verse is Psalm 46:10. It says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

I am so thankful that I am able to stop and listen to some worship music or read a devotional whenever I want to. This world we live in is nonstop, so it is important that we get our time with Jesus.

Life gets busy and we go non-stop a lot of the time. We worry about getting our “to-do list” completed. Yes, we need to work and get our jobs done. However, we should not worry as much as we do. We must find the time to be still and go to God. He will calm us and give us the strength that we need.

The biggest decision that we will ever make is to follow Jesus. When we pass away from this earth, someone else will take our job. Make sure to spend time with those that you love and share the love of Christ with those that he has placed in your life.

I want to thank everyone who tells me they read my column every week. Some weeks, I really don’t know what to write about or I feel like I am repeating myself. So thank you, for the encouragement. As we go through this week, let’s encourage those around us with a nice little note or a little conversation about how everything is going. Sometimes, we never know what those around us are really going through.

My prayer for us this week is that we will be still in the fast-paced world and spend some time with the Lord daily. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
