What is a vocation? Oxford Languages - “A person’s employment or main occupation, especially regarded as particularly worthy and requiring great dedication.” Comes from the Latin word “vocare” which means “to call”. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone could find their true vocation and not just a job? Events such as our College and Career Showcase may just be the catalyst for our students’ journey to identifying their calling.
The staff and students of Wortham ISD would like to thank you for taking a day and spending it with us in the middle of Bulldog country! We are aware that being away from your regularly assigned duties can be a hardship in many cases and causes additional work for your co-workers while you are absent and on you upon your return. We sincerely appreciate you and your commitment to our students and our district. Mr. Hayes, Mrs. Langley, and I heard many of you remark about how we couldn’t have ordered a more perfect day weather wise. The 3 of us felt like yes, the weather was wonderful, but we couldn’t have assembled a better, more diverse group of dedicated exhibitors to share what a career in their chosen field would be like.
