The Freestone County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant on Saturday morning, March 29, in the in the city limits of Teague.
This search warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation by the FCSO. Upon executing the search warrant David Jones was taken into custody for active felony warrant for Manufacturing/ Delivery of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine).
During the search of the residence, the suspect was found to be in possession of more than 20 grams of methamphetamine that was packaged in separate bags as well as a handgun. The suspect was confirmed to be a convicted felon that is not lawfully allowed to possess firearms.
The man was arrested and charged with the following: 1) Manufacturing/ Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 over 4 grams less than 200 grams (Felony 1), 2) Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon (Felony 3), and 3) Warrant: Manufacturing/Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 over 1 gram less than 4 grams (Felony 2).
As of press time Jones was still incarcerated on a total of $160,000 in bonds.
The FCSO was assisted by Teague Police Department, Wortham Police Department, Freestone County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, Texas DPS, and the Freestone County District Attorney’s Office.
