Teague High School Principal Monte Shields resigned effective the end of June during the Tuesday, March 25, Teague ISD school board meeting.
TISD Superintendent Chris Skinner recognized Stephanie Thorne and Brandon Ledgister as the TISD Teachers of the Month for March and Brent Holmes and Clint Dunn as the TISD Employees of the Month for March.
Skinner also honored second grader Dulce Escobedo for placing second in the Spanish Spelling Bee and advancing to the state competition.
The board approved paying the bills in the amount of $414,350.86.
The 2025-2026 academ- ic calendar was approved by the board as well. The first day of school will be on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
After the executive session, the renewals and extensions for teacher contracts, counselor contracts, librarian contract, and registered nurses contract were approved as presented.
The next TISD school board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, at 5:15 p.m.
