Eagles defeat Mexia 10-0

The Fairfield Eagles hosted Mexia last Tuesday, April 1, and defeated the Blackcats 10-0 to move to 12-2 overall and 7-0 in district play. Fairfield took the home win 10-0 in five innings of play.

Fairfield took the home win 10-0 in five innings of play. The Eagles scored three runs in the first, one in the third, three in the fourth, and three in the fifth for the victory.

The Eagles had 12 hits during the game. Cal Wilson led the way with three hits as Angel Serrato, Dylon McGowan, Justin Johnson, and Gustavo Aguilera each had two hits, and Kohl Collins one hit. Mexia had three errors in the game as well.

Aguilera pitched all five innings and struck out 10 batters and gave up no hits.

The Eagles had a bye night on Friday, April 4. A non-district game against Ferris was canceled on Saturday, April 5, due to rain.

Fairifeld traveled to Buffalo on Tuesday, April 8, to take on the Bison. The Eagles will host the Elkhart Elks at home on Friday, April 11, before traveling to Groesbeck next Tuesday, April 15, to take on the Goats.
