The Fairfield Eagles tied with Westwood for third place at the district track meet last week. Both schools scored a total of 96 points behind Elkhart (152) and Mexia (131). They defeated Teague (74), Groesbeck (55), and Buffalo (13).
Jeremiah Hudson places sixth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.624.
In the 200m dash, Finn Smith grabbed sixth place with a time of 24.113.
With a time of 52.518, Madden McElroy won the gold in the 400m dash. Noah Hoskins took fourth with a time of 54.123.
Collen Loviette placed first in the 1600m run with a time of 4:58.834. John Kuzmich took third with a time of 5:07.499.
Kuzmich and Loviette garnered third and fourth place respectively in the 3200m run with times of 10:56.483 and 11:12.844.
In the 110m hurdles, Jason Brackens placed third with a time of 16.352.
Smith, Hudson, KD Hicks, and Khalil Appel finished third in the 4x100m relay with a time of 43.603.
In the 4x200m relay, Kohl Collins, Hudson, Hicks, and Smith ran a 1:32.097 for a fourth place finish.
Emmanuel Valles, McElroy, Jerry Draper, and Hoskins grabbed fourth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:39.138.
Brayden Thornburg placed fourth in the shot put competition with a distance of 40' 0".
Thornburg won the gold in the discus contest with a throw of 133' 11". Jose Casteneda took fourth with a distance of 120' 8". Caden McCrory grabbed sixth place with a throw of 109' 3".
Brackens finished sixth place in the high jump competition with a jump of 5'4".
The top four athletes in each event advanced to the Area Track Meet, which was held on Wednesday, April 9, in Fairfield. Competing at the Area Track Meet with District 20 was District 19 consisting of Cameron Yoe, Lexington, Little River Academy, Rockdale, Franklin, Rogers, and Thrall.
