TRACK AND FIELD
Two members of the Lions and a Lady Lion advanced to the upcoming Class 3A Region III Meet after their showings in the Class 3A Area 19-20 Meet in Fairfield on April 9.
J’Kybryen Harris topped the field in the triple jump for the Teague boys, while his teammate Bryce Bates finished third in the same event. For the Teague girls, Chloe Kuzmich qualified in the 3200-meter run.
From the regional meet, being held at Waco Midway High School April 18-19, the top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for state in Austin May 1-3. They will be joined by a wild-card qualifier, the top third-place finisher from across all four regions in the state.

GOLF
The Lions were competing in the Class 3A Region III Tournament at press time at Brenham Country Club. They qualified by finishing second behind Fairfield in the District 20-3A Tournament at their own Tri-County Golf Club March 25 and April 2.
The Lions had a team score of 668 at district. Teague was led by Grayson Dancer, who had a two-day score of 151.
Also qualifying individually for Teague was Blaine Black with a 169 (81-88).
Also for the Lions at district, Carter Stacks shot 162, Landon Evans 178, Jay Craddick 179 and Dylan Gauntt shot 183. The four lowest individual scores in reach round comprise the team score.
From the regional tournament the top three teams and top three individuals not on those teams will qualify for state May 5-6 at Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin.
BASEBALL
The Lions (11-6, 6-3 in District 20-3A) held onto second place in the league by a half game over Groesbeck despite falling 5-4 at home to the Goats on April 7. Teague bounced back to win 10-0 at last-place Westwood in Palestine on April 11.

The Lions were hosting Mexia at press time. They visit district-leading Fairfield on April 17 and host Elkhart on April 22 to end the regular season, starting at 6 p.m. Mexia and Elkhart are tied in a battle for the fourth and final playoff berth from the league.
Teague split their district games against Groesbeck, winning 7-6 on the road on March 11. The Lions won 8-3 at Mexia on March 21 and lost 1-0 at Elkhart on April 1.
SOFTBALL
The Lady Lions (6-17, 3-7 in District 20-3A) saw their playoff hopes take a hit with losses of 15-4 at home to Groesbeck on April 7 and 5-1 at Palestine Westwood on April 11.
