Well new year, new me. A good saying to remember this coming year by Theodore Roosevelt “do what you can, with what you’ve got, where you are”. That is a direct contradiction to what I mostly hear, “the world is a miserable place and there’s nothing I can do about It”. How about some New Year’s resolutions that you can actually keep to some extent. Social Scientists say most of these resolutions are abandoned after two weeks. 01/17/2025 02:31 PM

In one of Roosevelt’s first radio broadcasts of “fireside chats” he tried to allay Americans’ fears in the depth of the worst financial depression in history, fears of the unknown years ahead until recovery. Unemployment was 30% at the time; misery was the lot of most working-class people; honest, hard-working family men couldn’t support their families; homeless veterans sold apples on street corners for 5 cents; gasoline sold for 12 cents a gallon, but very few owned a car; there was no social security and no other real safety net for individuals or families. Americans were very fearful for their future. 01/17/2025 02:31 PM

Don’t squander the opportunity of salvation
Don’t squander the opportunity of salvation
In every church around our community, you will most likely hear the same message at some point speaking about the concept of salvation. Whether this be in the booming voice of a Baptist, the confident solemness of a Presbyterian, the charismatic shout of a Pentecostal, the comforting tone of a Methodist, the liturgical song of a Catholic, or the modern vernacular of a Non-Denominationist, you WILL hear a message of salvation. 01/17/2025 02:31 PM
