Fairfield ISD staff met with Claycomb Associates, Architects, the architectural firm leading the high school construction project on Thursday, June 26. The planning session focused on specialized program areas, including band, agricultural science, dual credit welding, life skills, and cosmetology.
Staff members collaborated directly with the architect, engineers, and project manager to provide input on the specific needs of each space, ensuring the new campus will support every student and program.
“When we had our first design meeting with Claycomb Associates a couple of weeks ago, I could see the excitement from the staff members who were able to provide input on the areas they work in,” FISD Superintendent Joe Craig said. “Our Ag Science teachers (Phillips, Sherman, and Ellis) were able to talk about things they would like to see around the new Ag Science space, including our welding spaces, which Coach McGeary also provided input. Next, the conversation moved to the Band Hall, and Mr. Holland, Mr. Witt, and Ms. Sparks were able to offer many ideas to help with the design and layout. Other teachers that met with the design team that day were Mrs. McQuinn (Cosmetology), and Mrs. Gillian (Life Skills).”
