I went back to school on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Students will start back next Wednesday, Aug. 14. I’m so excited to get to know all of my students this year. Meet the Teacher will be held on Monday night, Aug. 12. I always enjoy meeting all of my students each year. I like to start building a relationship with them from Day 1 and see how much they grow throughout the year. 08/08/2024 08:07 AM

Pattern of abuse at Texas juvie facilities
A federal investigation into five state facilities concluded children in custody face excessive force, sexual abuse and a lack of vital services, The Dallas Morning News reported. I read a book one time that was based on the theory that every leader has a constituency that must be satisfied in order to remain in power. You could almost compare this to feeding young calves out in the pasture with entrance bars that prevent the rest of the herd from eating while the favored calves can have access. 08/08/2024 08:07 AM

Foolishness
Lincoln said you can fool some of the people all the time, and all the people some of the time. The question for us is which category do we fall into on the question of school vouchers funded out of public funds for families that want to send their kids to private schools. 07/25/2024 05:23 AM

This expression was originally a Chinese proverb, but as it happens now, it certainly applies to Americans in 2024. In fact, interesting is too mild a word; better said would be critical since that indicates a significant change to the status quo. Such is hopefully the case in November. It is almost inconceivable that the two major political parties in this country have devolved to the point of running Trump or Biden/Harris. But we are there. 07/17/2024 07:14 AM

Let’s return now to those thrilling days of yesteryear when the Lone Ranger Rides again. The time was 1948 and the presidential election was underway. I remember as a young boy at the Cotton Gin Store listening to the men talk about this election for 10 years afterward. 07/17/2024 07:14 AM

OBSERVANCES Bugs Bunny used to ask Elmer Fudd “what’s up doc”. The question is, why do things seem so out of control when in our mind, it did not used to be. 07/03/2024 02:51 PM
