Football’s most important player
Football’s most important player
What’s the most important position on a football team? I vote for the center. Some pay more attention to the quarterback or running backs, but without the center they’d just be standing around. 11/15/2024 03:40 PM

Imagine if you told someone 30 years ago that they would spend thousands of dollars on devices that remove them from reality, that place control over their persons in the hands of corporations, that cede access to their nervous system, that chart their every location and activity, that invade not just their privacy but the inner workings of their minds, and that they would do so willingly, even enthusiastically. People would have thought you were ludicrous. Yet that is what has happened, and I often visit with people that just parrot information that comes out of electronic devices without thinking. 11/15/2024 03:40 PM

Tau Chapter: DKG Adventure
Tau Chapter: DKG Adventure
Tau Chapter sisters adventured out to Homestead Heritage in the Waco area on Saturday, November 2. Vicki McDougal shared an inspiring inspiration and members had to guess the author. It was very appropriate for today and was from the inaugural address of President Lyndon Johnson concerning our duty as Americans to preserve our country founded by our Founding Fathers. 11/15/2024 03:40 PM

Kick off the holidays with a festive cookie recipe exchange
When we think about the holidays, a lot of the special moments we remember most fondly from years past involve sharing food with loved ones — from festive cookie exchanges to the scents and smells of family-favorite dishes and desserts, to warm beverages on cold nights. 11/15/2024 03:40 PM

Let’s take a stand for the one true God
Let’s take a stand for the one true God
Today I want to turn our attention to three young men who took a stand, even at the possible cost of their own lives. Their names are recognized to us as Sharach, Meshach, and Abednego and their story can be found in the third chapter of the book of Daniel. These young men had been captured along with their friend, Daniel, by a very wicked and fierce king by the name of Nubuchadnezzar who had conquered the countries of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, and parts of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iran, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Persian Gulf to the Dead Sea. So you can see that he was indeed a very powerful king who ruled a vast empire. But Daniel tells us in the first chapter that these three young men, along with Daniel, were compared to all the wise men of Babylon, but none were found more equal to Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Daniel, and all four of them served the king of Babylon in matters of wisdom and understanding. So they were well trusted by this once powerful and mighty king. 11/15/2024 03:40 PM

GOP win raises stakes for Cornyn’s leadership bid
With Republicans regaining majority control of the Senate, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, is making his bid to become that chamber’s majority leader. U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, had previously announced he would step down as party leader. Republicans will hold at least a 53-45 edge in January, with Senate races in two states still undecided as of Friday morning. 11/13/2024 11:00 PM
