DEVOTIONS When you drive around the town of Fairfield, or even Freestone County at large, one thing you’re going to see is churches! You’ll see numerous places of worship that meet at various times of the week and offer a variety of methods and practices with which to grow in our knowledge of God. For some there will be the claim, “Look at all these different churches, these Christians can’t agree on anything!” They might have even seen the name outside the building and cast judgment without even stepping inside! “Oh, that’s a Baptist church, I know what THEY believe!” Oh, those are Methodists, I’ve heard some things about them! Here is the reality of human beings, we like to judge. 03/27/2025 08:43 PM

Good news, bad news on the lake
Good news, bad news on the lake
This week’s report has one of those “Good News & Bad News” scenarios with the Good News being that the White Bass and Hybrid Stripers are now showing up on the Main Lake and we will soon be loading the ice chest with lots of both! The Bad News is that Mother Nature has decided we don’t need to be on the Lake as often as we want too as the WINDS and some rain has made the forecast tough for the beginning of Spring Break Week! As much as we hate to call off a fishing trip, over the past 25 years we have learned to respect the weather and always err on the side of safety when it comes to battling the elements on Lake Richland Chambers. 03/21/2025 09:10 AM
