Eight Lady Eagles competed in the Region 3 - 3A Large Schools Regional Powerlifting Meet at Commerce High School on Saturday, March 1, and brought home a third place finish out of 20 schools. Fairfield earned 22 points behind Winnsboro with 41 points and Palestine Westwood 22 points. There were a total of 130 lifters at the meet. 03/05/2025 08:07 PM

Lady Eagles knock-off Hitchcock 46-33 in Regional Semifinals for fourth straight year
For the fourth consecutive year, the Fairfield Lady Eagles knocked-off the Hitchcock Lady Bulldogs in the Regional Semifinals. House unveils its voucher version
Texas House members filed a bevy of education bills last week, including a proposed $8 billion investment in public education and a voucher bill that ties the amount of money spent for private schooling to the dollar amount provided to public schools. The Austin American-Statesman reported the bill, filed by Rep. Brad Buckley, R-Salado, would increase the base level of per-student funding by $220 — from $6,160 to $6,380. On Nov. 2, Henderson County Game Wardens filed charges against a man for hunting without landowner consent. The wardens had been investigating the suspect since last deer season, when they found an unusual hunting blind made out of a converted port-a-potty.
