This month we recognize the birthday of Charles Perrault, who preserved folk tales like “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Sleeping Beauty” and many more. We’d bake him a cake, but since he was born in 1628 he’s 397 now, and few folks that age can blow out the candles. 01/27/2025 08:48 AM

It sure got cold over the weekend. I hope everyone is staying nice and warm. At the time of writing this, there was snow in the forecast on Tuesday. I feel like a little kid wishing it would snow some this year. 01/27/2025 08:48 AM

Cold temps make fishing tough
Cold temps make fishing tough
This past week was almost a carbon copy of the previous week as we had cold temperatures, lots of wind, and very few days that were pleasant enough to get on the lake and catch a few fish! I did manage to conduct a trip the one day (Thursday) that was almost springlike and sandwiched in between those days that you knew it was winter! While the early morning temperature was a cold 28 degrees, by our start time of 8:30 a.m., it was in the high 30s and by midday, it was in the 50s! This was the first trip since the early January cold front and the water temperature had lowered from the mid 50s all the way to 49 degrees. I didn’t know what to expect on our trip for catfish. 01/27/2025 08:48 AM

Don’t squander the opportunity of salvation
Don’t squander the opportunity of salvation
In every church around our community, you will most likely hear the same message at some point speaking about the concept of salvation. Whether this be in the booming voice of a Baptist, the confident solemness of a Presbyterian, the charismatic shout of a Pentecostal, the comforting tone of a Methodist, the liturgical song of a Catholic, or the modern vernacular of a Non-Denominationist, you WILL hear a message of salvation. 01/17/2025 02:31 PM
