Your Testimony In The New Year
Your Testimony In The New Year
This is the last Sunday of 2024 and in just two days it will be New Year’s Eve, the day that we promise ourselves that “This year, I’m going to be different! This year I’m going to be a new person with new ideas, new thoughts, and new ways of doing things!” We call these “new ways”, “New Year’s Resolutions”, and maybe about half of what we want to do will happen in the new year, that is, if we really are serious about making some changes in our lives. So let me draw our thoughts to a passage that we don’t read very often and certainly a passage that I have never used for a New Year’s message, but it’s a passage that just might challenge us to make a different kind of new year’s resolution. Turn with me in your Bibles to the third letter of the Apostle John, the one entitled, “Third John”, and let’s look at this letter together. We are going to examine the testimony of three men, two good, and one bad, and hopefully learn something about bringing a good testimony about the love of Jesus Christ to those around us. 01/02/2025 09:19 AM

Making the most of the new year
Making the most of the new year
Katy and I really enjoyed our Christmas break. It was a much needed break. School starts back up next week for the kiddos after Christmas break. Everyone is ready to get back into a routine. However, before we know it, it is going to be spring break and then summer time. 01/02/2025 09:19 AM

Well, we’ve closed out the books on another year with the baby boomer herd continuing to thin. We have a new president soon taking over and promising to solve all our problems on day one and I’ve got one he could help me with: how to fold up properly a prefolded bedsheet. 01/02/2025 09:19 AM

Angelina County 23-pointer likely to be one Texas’ top bucks of the 2024-25 season
Justin Wigley of Huntington has shot some really nice bucks over the years, but none to compare to the bruiser of a whitetail that came calling on the afternoon of Nov. 3. It was the bewitching hour — roughly 20 minutes before sunset. The buck stepped out in an opening in the company of four does about 80 yards of Wigley’s box blind situated deep in the heart of his 1,200acre lease in Angelina County. 01/02/2025 09:19 AM
