Freestone County residents in Fairfield and Wortham will have some decisions to make for the May 3 election. Early voting begins on Tuesday, April 22, and ends on Tuesday, April 29. Election Day is Saturday, May 3.

Easter Eggstravaganza set for Saturday
The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19, at the Freestone County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be crafts, face painting, egg dying, pony carousel, and cotton candy. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance as well.

The City of Teague Annual Spring Clean-up is set for Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Dumpster locations will be at the 8th Avenue Park, Booker T. Washington Park, and the City of Teague Collection Center.

Spring Wrap Up
It’s been an eventful spring thus far in the fishing world. Among other things, multiple Texas waterbody records have been busted, a Top 20 largemouth bass was sniped off a spawning bed, and a veteran Alabama bass pro named Dustin Connell cemented his name in pro fishing’s history books by securing his third REDCREST win in five attempts.

Fairfield considers adding dog to PD
Fairfield Mayor Bobby Nichols reported that the city might get a patrol dog for the Fairfield Police Department at the City Council meeting Tuesday, April 8. Nichols said he believes it would assist the schools greatly.

Kindness from Case Shoot - a huge success
The annual Kindness from Case Sporting Clays Shoot held on Saturday, April 12, at the Case Robinson Memorial Range was another huge success this year. A total of 30 teams along with some individuals, totaling over 130 participants, competed in the shoot.
