Oakwood police to patrol nearby county roads
Freestone County Commissioners Court approved the patrol of county roads near Oakwood by that city’s police officers at its Wednesday, March 5, meeting. The court approved the continuation of the patrol help over the objection of Sheriff Jeremy Shipley.

Grand Band from Eagle Land wins Sweepstakes
The Grand Band from Eagle Land earned straight ones at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest at Groesbeck High School on Wednesday, March 5. “We are extremely excited for the band,” Band Director Russell Holland said.

One Act Play public performance set for March 22
After several set-backs this year, including the cancellation of the fall production, One Act Play cast and crew will perform “Louder, I Can’t Hear You” in the FHS Auditorium on March 21 for the student body and on March 22 at 6 p.m. for the community. Tickets will be $3 for students and $5 for adults at the door.

The Teague High School Band won a Sweepstakes trophy at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest at Groesbeck High School on Wednesday, March 5.

Grayson Dancer, a senior at Teague High School, signed his letter of intent to play golf at Jacksonville College on Friday, Feb. 28.

BINGO AMONG THE BOOKS
The Teague Public Library has been hosting activities during spring break. They played bingo Mponday, with Avery Satterwhite, 11, calling to about 70 players. They learned about butterflies through song and dance with Ms. Maria on Tuesday. On Wednesday, they had arts and crafts with the Nevill Sisters. They’ll learn all about Texas snakes at 2 p.m. Thursday, and they’ll have a pizza party and see a movie at 2 p.m. Friday.
