I saw in a crowd photo someone wearing a T shirt that said “we love Russians but hate Democrats”. The world has sure turned over in the last 50 years. 06/19/2024 03:01 PM

For those of us who utilize our Veteran’s benefits for health care via the VA Community Care Program, this may not be breaking news. For others who have commercial insurance, Medicare, or private pay, the program is good and comprehensive; the Community Care allows our local health care providers under the VA umbrella. 06/12/2024 08:26 AM

The Riches of God’s Word
The Riches of God’s Word
Have you read Psalm 119 lately? I don’t know why not. After all, it’s only a hundred and seventy six verses long! Of course, I’m speaking a little with “tongue in cheek” here, but I’m also serious about my question. Psalm 119 is one of the greatest psalms of all the psalms in the Book of Psalms. It’s a psalm that speaks over and over again about the riches of God’s Word and the very purpose of it. And the wonderful thing about this psalm is that it’s broken up into passages of eight verses each, which helps us to read and understand it without trying to digest all one hundred and seventy six verses in one reading. You might say it’s “chopped up into bite size parts” and each part is nourishing to our soul. Let me just share a few verses with you so you can see what I mean. 06/05/2024 07:21 AM

There is only a week and half of school left for Fairfield and Teague. Seniors will be graduating on May 24 and summer will be here for a much needed break. Summer is a time to slow down just a little and relax and maybe enjoy a family vacation. 05/08/2024 02:54 PM

Those of us who can remember clearly the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, can cheerfully recall that the lunatic fringe of the democratic party, mostly ignorant young people, organized a time of riots and chaos in the streets and attempted to do the same inside the convention hall. 05/08/2024 02:54 PM
