Who is the sucker?
I read a story recently about a lady school teacher in Yazoo City, Miss., in the impoverished Delta country that is teaching unprivileged kids and there is not enough money to even pay her a salary. Yet kids that would fall through the crack of life are staying in school and making plans for the future. When asked about financial strain she faces, she uttered a phrase that applies to all of us: “What I don’t get in this life, I will get in the next.”

Senior Center News
Last Monday morning was incredibly busy. A big “thank you” to Carol for distributing the blessing bags for Route 2; I took care of Route 1. On Tuesday and Wednesday, our dedicated Meals on Wheels drivers delivered non-perishable meals to our homebound clients to cover for the center’s closure on Thursday and Friday.

Fishing heating up as water temps chill
Riley Harris of Orange has reeled in plenty of heavyweight bass over the years, but none to compare to the bruiser that gobbled up his football jig on the morning of November 22 at Sam Rayburn Reservoir.

Enjoying good fishing days
We had some really nice days to fish this past week as it felt so good to take a brisk boat ride and then enjoy a mild Fall morning on the Lake! The Catfish and White Bass also thought it was a good idea to aggressively bite as we filled the ice chest with fish! We did a little scouting on my Saturday trip after catching some nice Cats and headed to the Main Lake in search of White Bass. We found some small Schools of BIG Whites on Main lake Points in 20’-25’ feet of water and caught them two at a time on Silver Slabs with a Jig Teaser.
