Teague Lions earn 50-40 home win over Elkhart
The Teague Lions basketball team bounced back from a Jan. 7 road loss at Mexia with a 50-40 home win over Elkhart on Friday, Jan 10. After three straight district losses, it was Teague’s first win of the season in District 203A Division 3 competition. Meanwhile, Elkhart remains winless in district play at 0-4.

Lady Lions prevail over Elkhart 40-34
The Teague Lady Lions basketball team rebounded from a Jan. 7 road loss at Mexia with a 40-34 home win over Elkhart on Jan. 10. With the victory, Teague improved to 4-2 in the district and maintain third place behind Fairfield and Mexia in the District 20-3A Division 3 standings.

Ladycats top Teague 46-29
In a battle for second place in District 20-3A, the Mexia Ladycats basketball team prevailed over the visiting Teague Lady Lions on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Mexia moved to 4-1 in district play by virtue of a 46-29 win. As for Teague, the Lady Lions dropped to third in the district with a mark of 3-2.

Justin Wigley of Huntington has shot some really nice bucks over the years, but none to compare to the bruiser of a whitetail that came calling on the afternoon of Nov. 3. It was the bewitching hour — roughly 20 minutes before sunset. The buck stepped out in an opening in the company of four does about 80 yards of Wigley’s box blind situated deep in the heart of his 1,200acre lease in Angelina County.
